Job Summary
We are seeking a Visio Process Mapping Specialist for a full-time, temporary assignment supporting a public sector operations environment in Fountain Valley, CA. This role is ideal for a documentation-focused professional with strong hands-on experience creating process flow diagrams in Microsoft Visio.
In this position, you will work closely with internal staff to understand business procedures, review existing documentation, and translate data capture, data processing, and data output workflows into clear, organized process maps. The work environment offers structured hours, meaningful public sector support, collaborative teams, and the opportunity to contribute to accurate documentation that helps improve operational clarity and compliance readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed process flow diagrams in Microsoft Visio for business procedures, databases, and operational workflows.
- Map data capture, data processing, and data output steps into clear and accurate visual documentation.
- Interview and communicate with staff to gather process details and clarify workflow requirements.
- Review existing written procedures and translate them into accurate process maps.
- Maintain an organized tracking log of all diagrams, documentation updates, and completed mapping work.
- Support operations documentation efforts in a structured, on-site public sector environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $45.00 per hour.
- Assignment length: Approximately 6 months.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Work arrangement: On-site in Fountain Valley, CA.
- Employment type: Temporary contract.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Build process flow diagrams in Microsoft Visio for business procedures and databases.
- Document data capture, data processing, and data output workflows.
- Gather information from staff interviews and existing procedure documents.
- Maintain an organized log of completed diagrams and documentation.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Prior hands-on experience building process flow diagrams is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read, interpret, and translate written procedures into visual process maps.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interview staff and ask clarifying questions.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple documentation items.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Fountain Valley, CA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or exposure to regulatory compliance.
- Experience supporting public sector, government, finance, environmental, or highly regulated environments.
- Business analyst, process documentation, or operations documentation experience.
- Ability to identify workflow gaps, inconsistencies, or opportunities for documentation improvement.
