Job Summary

A well-respected organization in Portland, OR is seeking a Technical Support Professional for a Contract/Temporary opportunity supporting a broad range of desktop, systems, infrastructure, and end-user technologies. This role is ideal for an experienced IT support professional who enjoys solving technical issues, improving systems reliability, and working directly with users, vendors, and internal IT teams.

The Technical Support Professional will serve as a key resource for service desk support, systems analysis, infrastructure maintenance, technology upgrades, and documentation. Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct end-user desktop support and serve as an early point of contact for service desk requests, technical issues, and service interruptions.
- Monitor, maintain, and support information systems, including hardware, software, networks, data center, storage, telephony, email, backup, directory services, and virtualization technologies.
- Perform systems analysis duties related to the design, development, implementation, migration, and upgrade of IT systems and platforms.
- Research, test, recommend, select, and integrate hardware and software solutions while supporting licensing, compliance, and infrastructure standards.
- Support secure computing practices, including anti-virus, malware protection, secure wireless networking, authentication, encryption, and end-user security.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, procedures, user instructions, and training materials for staff.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary Range: $58,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Provide desktop support and systems support for end users, business applications, hardware, software, and IT infrastructure.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot service interruptions, and coordinate maintenance with internal teams and third-party providers.
- Support implementation, migration, upgrade, and integration projects for hardware, software, network, and infrastructure platforms.
- Develop documentation, diagrams, procedures, manuals, and end-user instructions to support IT operations.

- Five years of experience providing direct end-user desktop support or systems analysis.
- Minimum of three years of experience supporting and managing technologies similar to those used in the organization’s IT environment.
- Strong technical knowledge across hardware, networks, data center operations, storage, telephony, software, databases, email, content management, data archiving, backup, directory services, virtualization, security, file services, and print services.
- Experience supporting service desk operations, troubleshooting user issues, and delivering professional customer-focused technical support.
- Ability to evaluate, test, recommend, and implement hardware and software solutions aligned with IT standards.
- Working knowledge of wireless network infrastructure, client devices, authentication methods, encryption, and secure connectivity.
- Strong documentation skills, including the ability to write technical procedures, user instructions, and system diagrams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with end users, contractors, vendors, and internal technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project support skills.
