Job Summary Required Qualifications and Skills
A well-established engineering services organization in Cypress, CA is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys detailed reconciliation work, general ledger accounting, fixed assets, and month-end close support.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and research discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Complete credit card reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, and balance sheet account reviews.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, and other month-end adjustments.
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, additions, disposals, and related accounting documentation.
- Assist with month-end close, year-end close, audit requests, tax preparation, and financial reporting support.
- Participate in special projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $83,200 to $93,600 per year.

- Perform high-volume bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities.
- Maintain fixed asset accounting records and depreciation schedules.
- Reconcile general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement accounts.
- Staff Accountant or similar general accounting experience required.
- 6 to 10 years of accounting experience preferred based on role level.
- Strong experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, and month-end close procedures.
- Experience performing daily bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented accounting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in engineering services, professional services, construction, manufacturing, or another project-based business environment.
- Prior contract-to-hire or temporary assignment experience with the ability to quickly learn systems and processes.
- Experience supporting audits, tax preparation, financial reporting, and process improvement projects.
