We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Lead for a direct hire opportunity in Placentia, CA, supporting supply chain operations within the medical devices and supplies industry. This role is ideal for a dependable logistics professional who enjoys hands-on warehouse coordination, accurate documentation, inventory control, and working closely with purchasing, operations, and production teams.
The Shipping and Receiving Lead will help ensure materials are received, inspected, documented, routed, packaged, and shipped accurately to support production schedules and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials, inspect documentation, and ensure required paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Distribute materials to proper locations or internal recipients while supporting timely production needs.
- Enter receipts into the ERP system and initiate proper receipt routing according to established procedures.
- Package outgoing shipments using approved materials and verify shipping documents against outbound products.
- Schedule shipments with approved couriers and complete required administrative documentation.
- Maintain clean work areas, support Kanban inventory processes, and assist with purchasing-related activities as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $21.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Location: Placentia, CA.
- FLSA Status: Non-exempt.
- Support daily shipping, receiving, packaging, documentation, and material distribution activities.
- Receive materials in the ERP system and follow established SOPs and work instructions.
- Maintain inventory control processes, including Kanban cards for inventory and non-inventory items.
- Place purchase orders based on ERP or Kanban requirements and communicate supplier cost changes as needed.
- High school diploma required.
- 2 to 5 years of shipping, receiving, materials management, warehouse, or inventory control experience.
- ERP proficiency required, with JD Edwards experience strongly relevant.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced supply chain environment.
- Working knowledge of inventory control processes.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing, medical device, healthcare products, or quality-driven production environment.
- JD Edwards ERP experience.
- Familiarity with SOPs, work instructions, receiving documentation, and controlled material handling processes.
