Active Connecticut SM-1 or SM-2 Sheet Metal License
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace commercial HVAC sheet metal duct systems according to project specifications.
- Perform field layout, measurements, ductwork installation, and sheet metal modifications as needed.
- Fabricate and install sheet metal components, hangers, supports, duct connectors, grilles, diffusers, and related materials.
- Install HVAC equipment and components including rooftop units, air handlers, fans, exhaust systems, VAV boxes, and dampers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, construction drawings, and project specifications.
- Seal, inspect, and test HVAC duct systems for proper operation, quality, and leakage control.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay range: $40 to $60 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Install and fabricate commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components.
- Perform duct layout, field measurements, equipment installation, and system modifications.
- Read blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications for accurate installation.
- Coordinate work safely and efficiently with other trades on active construction sites.
- Active Connecticut SM-1 or SM-2 Sheet Metal License required.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant sheet metal or commercial HVAC ductwork experience preferred.
- Experience with commercial HVAC ductwork installation, fabrication, repair, and replacement.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ventilation systems, duct installation practices, and field layout.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Must possess required trade tools.
- Ability to follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship, reliability, and teamwork.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 Certification preferred.
- Scissor Lift and Boom Lift Certification preferred.
- Experience on commercial construction projects.
- Experience with rooftop units, air handlers, VAV boxes, dampers, fans, exhaust systems, grilles, diffusers, and ventilation systems.
- Crew leadership or foreman support experience.
- Knowledge of Connecticut mechanical and sheet metal codes.
