We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity with an established architecture firm in Coastal North County San Diego, CA. This in-person leadership role is ideal for an experienced architectural project manager who enjoys guiding complex projects from early design through construction while building trusted client relationships.

The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in mentoring project teams, coordinating consultants, managing client expectations, and delivering high-quality architectural work on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage architectural projects through all phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration, and closeout.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, consultants, governing agencies, utility providers, and public stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams while managing schedules, budgets, staffing, and project deliverables.
- Oversee construction documents, specifications, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Monitor project scope, quality, code compliance, risks, budgets, and timelines while providing proactive solutions.
- Support client relationship management, proposals, presentations, interviews, and other business development efforts.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture preferred.
- 7 to 8 or more years of architectural project management experience.
- Architectural license preferred or active pursuit of licensure.
- Strong experience managing projects from design through construction.
- Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and related architectural software.
- Working knowledge of current building codes, construction documentation, and project delivery standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and client management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail, strong decision-making skills, and a commitment to design quality.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with K-12, higher education, civic, public, healthcare, commercial, or retail projects.
- Familiarity with BIM and Revit workflows.
- Experience with sustainable design and green building practices.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, or Lumion.
- Strong background in value engineering, material selection, design reviews, and consultant coordination.
