Job Summary
We are seeking a Remote Training Specialist for a contract opportunity supporting training and learning initiatives within the energy and utilities industry. This role is ideal for an experienced Instructional Designer or Technical Trainer who enjoys creating engaging learning experiences, partnering with subject matter experts, and helping employees build the skills needed to perform effectively.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven environment where training quality, compliance, technology, and continuous improvement are valued. The ideal candidate will bring strong instructional design expertise, technical training experience, and the ability to develop clear, practical learning materials for a professional workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs aligned with business goals.
- Create and update training materials, presentations, eLearning courses, job aids, and technical curriculum.
- Conduct training needs assessments, analyze participant feedback, and evaluate learning effectiveness.
- Coordinate training schedules, logistics, instructors, vendors, classroom technology, webinars, and participant communications.
- Collaborate with HR, business leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to develop effective training solutions.
- Maintain training documentation and ensure materials meet branding, compliance, and security standards.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $70,000 to $82,000 per year.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
- Work Arrangement: Remote, with a required equipment pickup in Rosemead, CA.
- Location: La Puente, CA area.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Develop and deliver technical and corporate training programs for employees.
- Build eLearning courses, instructor-led materials, job aids, and blended learning content.
- Support training coordination, LMS-related activities, webinars, and classroom technology.
- Measure learning outcomes and recommend improvements to training programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 7 or more years of experience developing and delivering technical or corporate training.
- Instructional Design certification required.
- Experience using Articulate Storyline for eLearning development.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
- Portfolio of instructional design work required.
- Ability to work effectively with HR, business leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet branding, compliance, documentation, and security standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management experience.
- Experience working in the utility or energy industry.
- Experience developing technical training curriculum.
- Experience measuring learning effectiveness and applying feedback to improve programs.
- Ability to mentor team members and provide guidance on instructional design best practices.
