Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Receptionist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Armonk, NY. This front desk and switchboard role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming first impression, supporting office operations, and interacting with visitors, clients, employees, and internal teams throughout the day.
The Receptionist will serve as a key point of contact in a professional office environment, helping maintain smooth daily operations through strong communication, organization, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities
- Greet visitors, clients, and employees professionally while providing badges, assistance, and accurate visitor recordkeeping.
- Answer, screen, and transfer incoming calls using switchboard and phone systems across the organization.
- Schedule and manage meeting rooms, maintain calendars, phone lists, directories, communication boards, and automated messaging updates.
- Provide general administrative support, including preparing labels, compiling manuals, organizing materials, and assisting office teams as needed.
- Support basic PC and office-related tasks while helping maintain an organized, efficient, and professional front desk environment.
- Manage promotional item ordering, inventory, distribution, and related administrative tracking.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Location: Armonk, NY 10504.
- Business professional dress code required.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Provide professional front desk reception, visitor assistance, and switchboard support.
- Manage incoming calls, meeting rooms, visitor records, office communications, and administrative tasks.
- Support internal teams with document preparation, organization, promotional items, and general office coordination.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 or more years of receptionist, switchboard, front desk, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and courteous approach.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced professional office environment.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with employees, customers, and administrative teams.
- Professional appearance, business etiquette, and a polished front-office presence.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. with assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior switchboard or multi-line phone system experience.
- Previous experience in a corporate reception, hospitality, front desk, or customer-facing administrative role.
- Basic PC support experience or comfort assisting with office technology tasks.
- Experience maintaining calendars, phone directories, meeting room schedules, or office communication boards.
