Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist for a contract/temporary opportunity in Herndon, VA. This role is ideal for an organized administrative professional who enjoys being the first point of contact in a polished office environment and takes pride in creating a positive experience for visitors, vendors, employees, and internal teams.

The Receptionist will support daily front desk operations, manage incoming calls, assist with scheduling, and help maintain an efficient and welcoming workplace. Key Responsibilities

- Greet and assist visitors, vendors, employees, and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
- Answer incoming calls, route inquiries appropriately, and take accurate messages.
- Manage visitor sign-in procedures, coordinate access, and support front desk security protocols.
- Schedule meetings and appointments using Microsoft Outlook.
- Coordinate with Executive Assistants and Facilities teams to support office operations, visitor needs, and scheduling requirements.
- Perform general administrative duties, including data entry, filing, document preparation, and maintaining reception and common areas.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Provide professional front desk reception and visitor support.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant receptionist, front desk, administrative assistant, or customer service experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently in a fast-paced office environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, punctuality, and dependability.
- Ability to remain seated or standing at a reception desk for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move office supplies and packages up to 20 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting corporate or professional office environments.
- Experience using scheduling software, CRM systems, or other office management tools.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to administrative support.
