The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing advanced laboratory procedures with minimal supervision under the direction of the area lead and department manager. This role supports the testing of veterinary biologicals in accordance with strict regulatory and company standards. The technician will work with a variety of laboratory equipment to complete quality testing while maintaining compliance with all safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct laboratory testing using aseptic techniques in compliance with regulatory guidelines
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety policies
Maintain accurate and detailed records, including logs, charts, and documentation
Enter and verify test results within the QC tracking system
Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment
Perform mathematical calculations, conversions, and formulations as required
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including floors, walls, and lab surfaces
Monitor and evaluate testing standards and sequential analysis processes
Report any unusual or non-routine findings promptly
Manage the accumulation, labeling, and disposal of hazardous, universal, and/or infectious waste
Environmental Working Conditions
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures, including exposure to coolers and freezers
Physically capable of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Compliance with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, LN gear, face shield, apron, and glove
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required, with at least three (3) years of laboratory experience
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Experience with analytical instrumentation, including microscopic analysis and biological assays
Proficient in aseptic technique and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Strong analytical aptitude with critical thinking capabilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with SAP systems
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), specifically for Environmental Monitoring (EM)
