Job Summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Monrovia, CA with a food and beverage production organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on food safety and quality leader with strong regulatory knowledge, audit experience, and a passion for continuous improvement in a USDA-regulated manufacturing environment.

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead QA and QC programs across food safety, product quality, sanitation, compliance, audits, labeling, testing, and team development. This is a high-impact leadership role with visibility to executive leadership and the opportunity to help strengthen quality systems, improve processes, and support a collaborative production team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain SQF, HACCP, food safety, quality assurance, and quality control programs.
- Manage regulatory compliance and serve as the primary contact for USDA, FDA, Organic, Halal, and third-party audits.
- Oversee GMPs, SSOPs, allergen controls, supplier approvals, customer complaints, sanitation standards, calibrations, and training programs.
- Coordinate microbiological testing, review results, investigate trends, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure product labels, specifications, formulations, and nutritional documentation meet applicable regulatory requirements.
- Supervise, coach, train, and support the SQF Practitioner and Quality Control Technicians.

Compensation and Benefits

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead QA, QC, SQF, HACCP, and food safety programs in a food manufacturing environment.
- Manage USDA, FDA, SQF, HACCP, Organic, Halal, and third-party audit readiness and compliance.
- Supervise quality team members, including the SQF Practitioner and Quality Control Technicians.
- Drive corrective actions, product quality improvements, sanitation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of Quality Assurance or Food Safety experience in food manufacturing.
- Experience working in a USDA-inspected facility is required.
- HACCP Certified Practitioner certification is required.
- SQF Practitioner qualification and hands-on SQF management experience are required.
- Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, allergen control, and food safety regulations.
- Experience with audits, microbiological testing, food labeling, specifications, formulations, nutritional documentation, and corrective action programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, training, documentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the protein or meat industry.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives in a food manufacturing or food processing environment.
