Job Summary
A mission-driven nonprofit charitable organization in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Program and Event Planning professional for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an organized, tech-savvy event and program support professional with experience coordinating virtual meetings, webinars, hybrid events, conferences, galas, and stakeholder-facing programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate virtual meetings, webinars, hybrid events, and related program activities.
- Support the planning and execution of in-person conferences, galas, campus programs, and stakeholder events.
- Assist with budget development, forecasting, tracking, and event-related administrative reporting.
- Coordinate speakers, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, contracts, and external partners to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Use event management platforms, CRM systems, virtual meeting tools, email tools, and collaboration software to support registration, communication, logistics, and follow-up.
- Partner cross-functionally with departments across the organization to align timelines, resources, materials, and event execution needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: El Segundo, CA.
- Work arrangement: Full-time on-site during the contract period. If transitioned to a regular full-time position, the role is expected to be three days per week in office and two days remote.
- Travel: Moderate travel required, primarily between June and November, averaging approximately one week per month during that period.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Plan and coordinate virtual meetings, webinars, hybrid events, conferences, galas, and campus programs.
- Support event budgets, forecasting, timelines, logistics, and stakeholder communications.
- Manage speaker, sponsor, vendor, volunteer, and external partner coordination.
- Collaborate with internal departments to execute programs and events successfully.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in program coordination, event planning, administrative support, or a related nonprofit event environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Event Management, Project Management, or a related field required.
- Experience planning and facilitating virtual meetings, webinars, and hybrid events.
- Proficiency with event management platforms, registration tools, CRM or donor management systems, and virtual meeting technologies.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience using collaboration and productivity tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner, SharePoint, Google Workspace, Google Drive, Dropbox, Outlook, and similar platforms.
- Familiarity with tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Eventbrite, ZKIPSTER, Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, SendGrid, Twilio, and robotexting platforms.
- Experience managing vendors, contracts, external partners, and event-related deliverables.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong organizational, time-management, teamwork, and cross-department collaboration skills.
- Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn new systems, processes, and event technologies.
- Ability to travel moderately during peak event season as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting nonprofit, donor, fundraising, gala, conference, or community-focused events.
- Experience with speaker, sponsor, donor, or executive-level stakeholder coordination.
- Experience supporting both in-person and virtual event production from planning through post-event follow-up.
