A Project Architect is needed for a direct hire opportunity in North San Diego supporting complex residential, commercial, office, and education-related architectural projects. This role is ideal for an experienced architectural professional who enjoys technical documentation, Revit/BIM coordination, consultant collaboration, and guiding projects through multiple phases of design and construction.
This opportunity offers a collaborative design environment with supportive leadership, strong teamwork, and a focus on technical excellence. The Project Architect will have the opportunity to mentor junior staff, participate in client and consultant coordination, contribute to design discussions, and help move projects from early concepts through construction documentation, agency review, and construction administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and coordinate architectural documents through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Develop and manage detailed Revit and BIM models, plans, elevations, sections, details, renderings, and presentation materials.
- Coordinate drawings with consultants, vendors, clients, and internal team members to resolve conflicts and maintain design intent.
- Support agency review processes, site surveys, project detailing, material research, and product selection.
- Review technical work prepared by junior designers and provide guidance to support quality, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Participate in design charrettes, critiques, presentations, and client meetings.
- Salary range: $90,000 to $105,000 per year, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Produce and coordinate architectural documents across multiple project phases.
- Lead Revit and BIM documentation efforts for residential, commercial, office, and education-related projects.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Support agency review, construction documentation, and construction administration activities.
- 6 or more years of experience producing and coordinating architectural documents through multiple phases.
- Strong Revit experience required.
- Strong knowledge of architectural documentation, building codes, construction terminology, and detailing.
- Experience with agency review processes, including DSA and HCAI procedures.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Lumion.
- Strong design, technical, graphic presentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, delegate work, mentor junior staff, and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture, such as a B.Arch or M.Arch, preferred.
- Licensed Architect or actively pursuing architectural licensure preferred.
- Architectural design experience within the K-12 education sector preferred.
- Experience contributing to presentations, design critiques, and client-facing project discussions preferred.
