Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist with deep Marketing Procurement expertise for a contract opportunity in South San Francisco, CA. This role will lead strategic sourcing and category management across key marketing areas, with a strong focus on Influencer Marketing, Creator Marketing, Social Media, agencies, content production, and related services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys partnering with Brand Marketing, Finance, Legal, and cross-functional leaders to turn business priorities into actionable sourcing strategies and measurable value. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial judgment, advanced negotiation skills, and a clear understanding of marketing agency models, creator economics, usage rights, licensing, rate structures, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Marketing category strategies aligned with long-range plans, annual operating plans, brand strategies, spend priorities, and evolving market conditions.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across Influencer Marketing, Social Media, creative, media, digital marketing, experiential, content production, agencies, and related services.
- Analyze spend, scopes of work, agency models, rate cards, retainers, supplier relationships, and demand patterns to identify savings and value opportunities.
- Manage RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, commercial analysis, negotiations, contracting, implementation, and value realization.
- Evaluate agency and supplier capabilities, staffing models, pricing structures, usage rights, licensing, exclusivity, commissions, amplification, and production costs.
- Partner with Marketing, Brand, Finance, Legal, Risk Management, and other teams to balance creative needs, speed, flexibility, commercial value, and risk.

- Compensation: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead Marketing Procurement category strategy and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Manage complex negotiations, supplier evaluations, RFPs, RFQs, and contracting processes.
- Build savings and value pipelines through spend analysis, benchmarking, demand management, and supplier optimization.
- Serve as a procurement advisor to Marketing, Brand, Finance, Legal, and cross-functional stakeholders.

- 6 to 10 years of relevant procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or contracts administration experience.
- Significant experience in Marketing Procurement across multiple categories, including agencies, digital marketing, content production, media, creative, experiential, or related services.
- Demonstrated experience with Influencer Marketing, Creator Marketing, Social Media, or similar marketing ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of creator and influencer commercial models, agency economics, scopes of work, rate structures, usage rights, licensing, exclusivity, and key marketing cost drivers.
- Proven ability to translate long-range plans, annual operating plans, brand strategies, and business priorities into category strategies and measurable procurement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to interpret budgets, spend data, supplier insights, market intelligence, and business plans.
- Excellent negotiation, project management, problem-solving, communication, and executive-level presentation skills.
- Ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and drive multiple initiatives from strategy through execution.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- CPSM, Six Sigma, or similar procurement or sourcing certification is a plus.
- Experience within retail, fashion, apparel, consumer brands, clothing and textile manufacturing, or another consumer-focused industry.
- Experience working within a global, multi-brand organization.
