A well-established law firm in Winter Park, FL is seeking an experienced Probate & Trust Paralegal to support a busy Trusts & Estates practice. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a paralegal with strong Florida probate and trust administration experience who enjoys taking ownership of matters from initial filings through final distribution.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a senior attorney in a professional, collaborative legal environment where attention to detail, client service, and independent file management are valued. The team provides a supportive setting for an experienced paralegal who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the ability to make a visible impact on estate and trust administration matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage probate and estate administration matters from opening through completion under attorney guidance.
- Prepare and coordinate probate petitions, inventories, notices, accountings, waivers, releases, receipts, and related court filings.
- Support trust administration matters, including notices, asset collection, trust funding, distributions, records, and fiduciary accountings.
- Communicate professionally with clients, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, courts, financial institutions, accountants, advisors, and other third parties.
- Track creditor claims, filing deadlines, publication requirements, court dates, and administration milestones.
- Assist with asset valuation, retitling, account setup, tax documentation gathering, transaction reconciliation, and closing documentation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 to $95,000 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Work arrangement: Onsite in Winter Park, FL.
- Manage Florida probate and estate administration files from intake through final distribution.
- Prepare probate pleadings, estate administration documents, notices, accountings, and court filings.
- Support trust administration, asset transfers, fiduciary accountings, distributions, and trust termination.
- Coordinate communication with attorneys, clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, courts, accountants, and advisors.
- 5+ years of hands-on probate and trust administration experience in a law firm environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Florida probate and trust administration procedures.
- Experience preparing probate pleadings, estate administration documents, and fiduciary accountings.
- Understanding of estate and trust assets, valuations, transfers, distributions, and administration timelines.
- Familiarity with fiduciary accounting and basic estate tax concepts.
- Experience using electronic court filing systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and deadline management.
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters while maintaining a high level of client service.
- Professional, discreet, and empathetic approach when handling sensitive client and family matters.
Preferred Qualifications
- Notary Public commission, or willingness to obtain one.
- Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or paralegal certification.
- Experience with legal practice management or case management software.
- Familiarity with ActionStep or similar legal software.
