Job Summary
We are seeking a Practice Assistant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Durham, NC. Key Responsibilities
- Support providers and the patient care team in delivering high-quality healthcare services in a fast-paced practice environment.
- Secure patient information, maintain accurate medical records, and protect confidentiality in accordance with professional and legal standards.
- Respond to verbal and electronic requests for information and assistance using established policies, reference tools, and provider instructions.
- Help maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist appropriately during urgent or crisis situations.
- Complete additional administrative and patient support responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $43,000 to $46,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support daily medical office operations and patient care coordination.
- Maintain patient records and protect confidential medical information.
- Respond to patient, provider, and internal team requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow practice policies, procedures, compliance standards, and emergency protocols.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- At least one year of experience working in a medical office, healthcare setting, or related clinical environment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and team members.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn or use healthcare office systems and electronic communication tools.
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and ability to interact respectfully with patients in a healthcare or mental health setting.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a process-oriented approach to work.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership, manage priorities, and contribute to team success.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow medical office policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working in a mental health setting.
- Experience supporting patients experiencing anxiety, depression, or related behavioral health concerns.
- Knowledge of clinical practice workflows, patient care support, and medical office procedures.
