Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Technician I for a contract/temporary opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA. This role is ideal for an early-career payroll professional with 1-2 years of experience who enjoys accurate data processing, employee support, and working in a structured Human Resources environment.

As a Payroll Technician I, you will support payroll and benefits administration activities within a government and public sector setting. This opportunity offers the chance to build valuable payroll experience, work with knowledgeable HR and payroll professionals, and contribute to timely, accurate employee pay processes. Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and processing of biweekly payroll

- Process payroll data accurately using computerized payroll and financial systems

- Verify payroll entries and maintain payroll records and filing systems

- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and assist in resolving payroll discrepancies

- Process wage garnishments, payroll adjustments, and related payroll transactions

- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and payroll documentation as needed

- Perform payroll-related calculations, including deductions, leave adjustments, and other payroll changes

- Support year-end payroll activities and maintain payroll records in compliance with applicable regulations
