Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Construction for a full-time, direct hire leadership opportunity in Melbourne, FL. This role supports a growing industrial construction organization and is ideal for a senior construction operations leader who can oversee multiple complex projects, manage financial performance, develop strong teams, and build long-term client relationships.
This is not a traditional Project Manager or Construction Manager position. The Operations Manager - Construction will lead an established construction business unit, guide project teams, support business development efforts, and help drive operational growth. Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall operational leadership for an industrial construction division overseeing multiple concurrent projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, Coordinators, and field leadership teams.
- Manage divisional financial performance, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and cash flow management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, engineers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
- Support business development, proposal strategy, contract negotiations, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality and performance standards.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $100,000 to $130,000 per year, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead operations for an industrial construction business unit with multiple active projects.
- Manage project execution from preconstruction through closeout, including scheduling, procurement, permitting, subcontractor management, and multi-trade coordination.
- Oversee financial performance, including P&L, budgets, forecasts, job costs, and cash flow.
- Develop project teams while supporting client relationships, business development, and operational growth.
- 10 to 15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience.
- Experience leading operations for an Industrial General Contractor, EPC contractor, or large electrical or specialty contractor.
- Proven success managing multi-trade industrial construction operations.
- Strong understanding of industrial construction methods, field operations, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience leading Project Managers, Superintendents, and construction operations teams.
- Excellent client relationship management, negotiation, business development, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to balance day-to-day operational priorities with long-term business objectives.
- Proven ability to build high-performing teams, mentor construction professionals, and foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in industrial, manufacturing, energy, power, government, or critical infrastructure construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with lean construction principles or continuous process improvement.
- Experience supporting proposal strategy, contract negotiations, and operational growth initiatives.
