Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Insurance Specialist for a full-time, direct hire opportunity in Shreveport, LA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented healthcare administrative professional who understands medical billing, insurance verification, claims processing, prior authorizations, and patient account support.

Key Responsibilities

- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and prior authorization requirements.
- Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims to support timely reimbursement.
- Review Explanation of Benefits, resolve billing discrepancies, and address denied, delayed, or unpaid claims.
- Communicate with insurance carriers, patients, and internal teams regarding claim status, coverage questions, and payment arrangements.
- Process patient intake information, update accounts, and maintain accurate documentation in company systems.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and perform general administrative and customer service duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $33,280 to $37,440 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift.
- Location: Shreveport, LA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referral coordination.
- Submit and follow up on medical insurance claims for reimbursement.
- Review EOBs, resolve claim issues, and maintain accurate patient account records.
- Support patients and internal teams with billing questions and administrative needs.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, medical office administration, healthcare customer service, or insurance claims processing.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, claims follow-up, and reimbursement processes.
- Understanding of medical terminology, healthcare documentation, and patient account workflows.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
- Excellent communication, customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Must be able to complete background and drug screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Previous experience as a Medical Billing Specialist, Insurance Verification Specialist, Patient Account Representative, Medical Office Coordinator, Healthcare Administrative Assistant, Medical Claims Specialist, Revenue Cycle Support Specialist, or Healthcare Customer Service Representative.
- Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare office or revenue cycle environment.
