We are seeking a dependable Material Operator for a contract opportunity in Cleveland, OH supporting the production of molded thermoplastic and thermoset materials for aerospace and industrial applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional who enjoys working with raw materials, following precise work instructions, and contributing to a safe, quality-focused production environment.
The Material Operator will support internal molding operations and external material preparation by cutting, mixing, weighing, blending, and inspecting materials. This opportunity offers a steady Monday through Friday schedule, a team-oriented work environment, and the chance to build valuable experience in a specialized manufacturing setting with supportive leadership and clear production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare raw materials for internal molding departments and external sales.
- Cut sheet molding compounds into required sizes and convert materials into preforms.
- Mix resin, dry mixes, and wet mixes using industrial equipment.
- Operate grinding, weighing, and blending equipment to produce bulk molding compounds.
- Perform visual inspections, identify material abnormalities, and escalate quality concerns to the Lead.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while meeting production and quality expectations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $18 per hour.
- Job type: 3 month contract with possible extension.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Location: Cleveland, OH 44130.
- Prepare raw materials, dry mixes, wet mixes, and resin for production use.
- Operate industrial weighing, blending, mixing, and grinding equipment.
- Inspect materials for quality issues and report anomalies or deficiencies.
- Follow detailed manufacturing work instructions and safety procedures.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience required.
- Experience preparing dry mixes, wet mixes, and resin required.
- Ability to use industrial weighing and blending equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to identify and report material abnormalities accurately.
- Comfortable working independently in above-ambient temperature conditions.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and safe work habits required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of raw material handling experience preferred.
- Experience with molded thermoplastic, thermoset, sheet molding compound, or bulk molding compound materials.
- Prior experience in aerospace, industrial, or quality-driven manufacturing environments.
- 3 to 5 years of manufacturing or material handling experience is a plus.
