Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity in Mentor, OH within a chemicals/petro-chemicals manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, keeping production running efficiently, and working in a fast-paced facility where reliability and safety are top priorities.

The Maintenance Mechanic will support mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while partnering with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime. Key Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues to minimize downtime and support production.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify wear, leaks, and potential failures before they affect operations.
- Support equipment changeovers, adjustments, calibrations, installations, and commissioning of new systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and repair documentation using the CMMS system.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, performance, and efficiency.
- Follow all safety standards, LOTO procedures, and company maintenance policies while participating in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay rate: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- 2nd shift differential: $2.00 per hour.
- 3rd shift differential: $1.50 per hour.
- Available shifts include:
- Monday through Friday, 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- Tuesday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Monday through Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Weekend shift coverage is subject to change and may be moved to weekday coverage.
- Testing may be required after an interview is requested.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and calibrations to support safe and efficient operations.
- Document maintenance activity, work orders, and equipment status in a CMMS system.
- Support reliability improvement efforts through root cause analysis and collaboration with production and engineering teams.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food, beverage, chemical, or related manufacturing environments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to read schematics, blueprints, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Experience with VFDs, PLCs, sensors, pumps, conveyors, and robotic systems.
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and CMMS software.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety procedures, including LOTO and established maintenance policies.

Preferred Qualifications

- Technical school, trade school, or related maintenance certification preferred.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing or other regulated industrial production environments preferred.
- Prior experience supporting continuous improvement, equipment reliability, or downtime reduction initiatives preferred.
