Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mail Clerk for a temporary-to-permanent opportunity in Arden Hills, MN. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, working independently, and supporting daily mail, package, shipping, and receiving operations in a fast-paced campus environment.

As a Mail Clerk, you will play an important role in keeping mail and package distribution running smoothly across multiple campus locations. You will receive training, work with supportive leadership, and become part of a team-focused environment where accuracy, customer service, and reliability are valued. This is a great opportunity for candidates with mailroom, shipping, receiving, clerical, or records management experience who are looking to build long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities

- Sort and stage incoming letters and packages on the dock for campus delivery and outgoing shipment.
- Check in packages using a scanning device and internal application.
- Deliver and pick up mail and packages across campus mailstops using maps, small carts, and flatbeds.
- Respond professionally to customer email inquiries and look up tracking numbers as needed.
- Process letter mail using a USPS postage machine and prepare outgoing FedEx shipments.
- Transport packages between campus locations and assist with additional mailroom duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $20 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Contract type: Temporary to permanent.
- Location: Arden Hills, MN.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Sort, stage, deliver, and pick up mail and packages across campus locations.
- Process outgoing USPS letter mail and FedEx packages.
- Use scanning tools and computer systems to check in packages and research tracking information.
- Provide professional customer service support for mail and package inquiries.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 to 2 years of related experience preferred.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
- Ability to read campus maps and follow mail delivery instructions accurately.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently after training while staying organized and task-focused.
- Flexibility and adaptability to schedule changes caused by weather, delays, or site conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution, mailroom, or shipping environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior mailroom, copy center, shipping, receiving, or package distribution experience.
- Basic knowledge of electronics and copier equipment.
- Experience using postage machines, package scanners, or shipping platforms.
