Job Summary
We are seeking a Logistics Manager for a temp-to-hire opportunity in the Tacoma/Kent, WA area. This role is ideal for a versatile professional who enjoys a blend of warehouse operations, order fulfillment, inside sales support, and customer service within a manufacturing and distribution environment.
This position offers variety, ownership, and visibility in a small-team setting where strong communication, reliability, and follow-through are valued. The Logistics Manager will help keep customer orders moving smoothly from quote to shipment while also supporting receiving, inventory, shipping, and warehouse organization. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow with a stable operation, work closely with leadership, and make a direct impact on customer satisfaction and daily business performance.
Candidates should be aware that future facility options are being evaluated, including a potential move to Oregon when the current lease expires in January 2027. No decisions have been finalized, but long-term growth and relocation opportunities may be available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer orders from receipt through shipment, ensuring accuracy, timely communication, and complete documentation.
- Prepare customer quotes, follow up on pricing and availability, and support account management activities.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, manufacturers, contractors, and internal team members regarding orders, lead times, freight, and fulfillment status.
- Receive, inspect, organize, pick, pack, and ship inventory while maintaining warehouse accuracy and organization.
- Coordinate freight shipments, deliveries, inventory counts, and stock management activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient warehouse environment while supporting day-to-day operational needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $60,000 to $70,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage inside sales support, customer service, quoting, order entry, and order follow-up activities.
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, inventory organization, freight shipments, and warehouse workflow.
- Support customer accounts, vendor communication, documentation, and fulfillment accuracy.
- Maintain a productive balance between office-based customer support and hands-on warehouse operations.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant logistics, warehouse, customer service, inside sales, order processing, or distribution experience.
- Experience processing orders, preparing quotes, coordinating shipments, and communicating with customers and vendors.
- Basic computer skills and experience using order entry, inventory, or business management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and move throughout the warehouse as needed.
- Dependable, self-motivated, customer-focused, and willing to take ownership of daily operational responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, industrial, construction supply, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
- Forklift experience is preferred, but certification is not required.
- Prior experience supporting outside sales representatives or managing customer accounts is a plus.
