Job Summary

A direct hire opportunity is available for an experienced Litigation Paralegal in Santa Rosa, CA. This role is ideal for a highly skilled litigation professional with 10+ years of complex litigation experience who enjoys substantive case work, legal research, discovery management, trial preparation, and close collaboration with attorneys.

This position offers the opportunity to join a professional legal services environment where experienced paralegals play a meaningful role in case strategy, document organization, evidence development, and litigation support. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of litigation attorneys and legal support professionals in a collaborative, detail-oriented setting that values initiative, accuracy, teamwork, and strong communication.

Key Responsibilities

- Support complex litigation matters through legal research, case chronology preparation, evidence organization, pleadings, motions, declarations, and supporting exhibits.
- Manage discovery and document production, including client evidence collection, opposing party productions, meet and confer support, and coordination with IT teams.
- Prepare for depositions, hearings, arbitration, summary judgment, pre-trial proceedings, and trial, including exhibits, witness lists, trial binders, deposition summaries, and motions in limine.
- Conduct legal and factual research using platforms such as Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, CM/ECF, and agency databases, including cite checking and record citation review.
- Coordinate with experts, witnesses, attorneys, legal assistants, and internal departments to streamline litigation processes and case preparation.
- Manage complex calendaring for litigation and related matters using Compulaw, including state, federal, appellate, TTAB, administrative, land use, and agency deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $95,000 to $117,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support complex litigation matters from pre-litigation through trial, arbitration, appeal, and related proceedings.
- Manage evidence collection, discovery, document production, chronologies, pleadings, motions, declarations, and trial preparation materials.
- Conduct legal research, cite checking, deposition preparation, transcript summaries, and record citation review.
- Manage master calendaring and deadline tracking across multiple courts, agencies, and practice-related matters.

- 10+ years of complex litigation paralegal experience.
- BA/BS degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, legal research, evidence organization, and trial preparation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, CM/ECF, and legal or agency research databases.
- Experience drafting and responding to discovery, reviewing discovery responses, preparing meet and confer letters, and supporting motion practice.
- Ability to prepare deposition outlines, exhibits, witness materials, pre-trial binders, jury instructions, witness lists, and trial exhibits.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple attorneys, matters, priorities, deadlines, and work styles.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and professional communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to review, revise, organize, and cite legal documents accurately.
- Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- Knowledge of legal billing processes and accurate billing descriptions.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Logikcull or similar eDiscovery and evidence collection platforms.
- Experience using Compulaw for complex legal calendaring.
- Knowledge of TABS legal billing software.
- Experience supporting TTAB cancellation or opposition proceedings.
- Experience coordinating expert discovery, expert reports, expert depositions, and witness appearances.
- Experience preparing designations of record on appeal and supporting appellate briefing.
