Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Specialist to support a fast-paced, high-volume legal office environment in Washington, DC. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a professional with office services, print production, mailroom, or document support experience who enjoys working in a client-facing legal setting.

In this role, you will provide essential onsite support to attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff through document production, mailroom operations, shipping and receiving, and general office coordination. Key Responsibilities

- Operate high-volume copiers, printers, scanners, and finishing equipment for legal document production, copying, binding, OCR processing, and file conversion.
- Sort, distribute, process, and deliver incoming and outgoing mail, packages, office supplies, and shipping materials.
- Maintain quality control for print jobs, document formatting, file naming, production logs, meter readings, and billing documentation.
- Provide professional customer service to attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff by responding to service requests and job status inquiries.
- Support office services functions including reception coverage, meeting room setups, supply inventory, service area organization, and light facilities tasks.
- Coordinate copier maintenance, troubleshoot basic equipment issues, and follow confidentiality standards for legal document handling.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay Rate: $19.46 per hour.
- Employment Type: 6+ month contract-to-hire, W2.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Location: Washington, DC 20004.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support legal document production, scanning, copying, binding, OCR processing, and print quality control.

- Maintain confidentiality, organization, documentation accuracy, and service area readiness.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in office services, print production, mailroom operations, or a related support role.
- Experience operating copiers, printers, scanners, postage meters, or similar office equipment.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues such as paper jams, errors, and routine service needs.
- Commitment to handling confidential legal documents with accuracy and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

- 2 or more years of experience in a legal, corporate, or professional office environment.
- Experience with high-volume print production equipment and finishing tools.
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, package tracking, and supply handling processes.
- Familiarity with document management systems.
- Basic technical troubleshooting experience in an office services or legal support environment.
