Job Summary
A well-established law firm in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Legal Litigation Secretary to support a busy litigation practice. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with strong court filing knowledge, excellent document production skills, and experience supporting attorneys in a fast-paced law firm environment.
The Legal Litigation Secretary will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, firm leadership, and Human Resources to help manage litigation workflow, deadlines, filings, client communication, and trial preparation. This role offers the opportunity to join a stable and professional legal team with supportive leadership, collaborative colleagues, and meaningful exposure to complex litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, format, and prepare legal correspondence, discovery responses, pleading shells, and litigation documents.
- Prepare Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities and ensure legal documents are accurate, polished, and court compliant.
- Manage court filings in state, federal, and appellate courts while tracking deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Coordinate depositions, court reporters, hearings, attorney calendars, and case-related scheduling.
- Support attorneys and paralegals with trial preparation, hearing binders, litigation support, and case file organization.
- Handle client communications, screen calls, process time entry, and perform administrative duties including filing, scanning, copying, and faxing.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $96,000 to $110,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Draft and prepare litigation correspondence, discovery responses, pleading shells, and court-ready legal documents.
- Manage electronic court filings and deadline-sensitive litigation support for state, federal, and appellate matters.
- Coordinate attorney calendars, depositions, hearings, court reporters, and trial preparation materials.
- Support attorneys and paralegals with case management, client communication, and administrative legal workflow.
- Minimum of 2 years of Litigation Secretary experience in a law firm environment.
- Strong understanding of state, federal, and appellate court rules, procedures, and filing requirements.
- Experience with litigation support, legal document formatting, discovery, pleadings, and court filings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software such as iManage, Best Authority, Adobe Acrobat, LawTime, or similar applications.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and document production skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and firm leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Labor and Employment litigation experience.
- Experience preparing trial binders, hearing binders, and complex litigation support materials.
- Familiarity with appellate filing procedures and advanced legal document formatting.
