A Fresno legal services firm is seeking a Legal Civil Litigation Secretary for a direct hire opportunity supporting civil litigation matters. This role is ideal for an experienced legal secretary who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing deadlines, filings, correspondence, and attorney support in a busy litigation environment.
The Legal Civil Litigation Secretary will play an important role in keeping cases moving efficiently by preparing legal documents, maintaining calendars, coordinating filings, and supporting attorneys with day-to-day case administration. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, proofread, and revise legal pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and case-related documents.
- Manage litigation calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, filing dates, and attorney schedules.
- File documents with courts, including electronic filing where applicable, and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Maintain case files, organize records, track documents, and support efficient case management.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal team members.
- Provide administrative and legal secretarial support to attorneys handling civil litigation matters.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $30.00 to $38.00 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Location: Fresno, CA.
- Support attorneys with civil litigation case preparation, document management, and deadline tracking.
- Prepare and process pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Manage court calendars, filings, and litigation-related scheduling.
- Maintain organized case files and provide dependable administrative support.
- 3 to 5 years of legal secretary experience, preferably in civil litigation.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, legal terminology, court filings, and deadline management.
- Experience preparing, formatting, proofreading, and revising legal documents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive assignments.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, reliability, and follow-through.
- Proficiency with standard office software and legal document management practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic court filing systems.
- Familiarity with California civil litigation procedures and court rules.
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys or litigation teams.
- Strong calendaring skills for hearings, discovery deadlines, depositions, and trial-related dates.
