Job Summary

A well-established law firm in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys within its Corporate Practice Group. This is a direct hire opportunity for a polished, detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys transactional and corporate legal work in a fast-paced, professional law firm environment.

This Legal Assistant role is ideal for someone who takes ownership of their work, stays calm under pressure, and can confidently support seasoned attorneys with high-level administrative and legal support. The position offers stability, a collaborative office environment, and the opportunity to be a trusted resource to attorneys handling corporate, business, and transactional matters.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities, detailed documents, client billing, calendars, and confidential information with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys in the Corporate Practice Group.
- Prepare, edit, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, and related materials.
- Manage attorney calendars, meetings, appointments, deadlines, and virtual meeting coordination.
- Handle monthly client billing, including prebills, narrative edits, client updates, and matter revisions.
- Open new matters, coordinate conflict checks, maintain electronic and paper files, and prepare files for off-site storage.
- Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, vendors, and internal staff while maintaining confidentiality.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $75,000 to $80,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours.
- Location: Tampa, FL.
- Work arrangement: 100% in office.
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
- Candidates seeking compensation above $80,000 should have significant additional experience and a strong background directly aligned with the role.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support attorneys in a corporate, transactional, business law, or other non-litigation legal practice.
- Manage legal documents, correspondence, calendars, billing, files, expenses, and matter administration.
- Coordinate client conflict checks, new matter openings, virtual meetings, invoices, and administrative projects.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, organization, and professionalism in daily attorney support.
- 3 or more years of legal assistant experience within a law firm is required.
- Experience in a corporate, transactional, business law, or non-litigation practice is strongly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Outlook.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading, typing, formatting, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adjust to changing deadlines.
- Professional and confident communication style with clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Ability to work effectively with strong personalities and demanding attorneys.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Must be comfortable working 100% in office in Tampa, FL.
- References will be requested prior to the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.
- Paralegal experience is a plus for candidates interested in transitioning into a Legal Assistant or administrative-focused role.
- Prior experience supporting multiple attorneys in a corporate practice group is preferred.
