A well-established legal services organization in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Real Estate Legal Assistant to support a busy commercial real estate practice. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a polished, detail-oriented legal support professional who enjoys working closely with attorneys, managing legal documents, coordinating deadlines, and helping clients receive responsive, high-quality service.
The Legal Assistant will support three attorneys and play an important role in file management, real estate due diligence, client billing, correspondence, scheduling, and day-to-day administrative support. Key Responsibilities
- Organize, maintain, open, and close legal files, including conflict checks, database updates, records management, and file tracking.
- Perform routine research and real estate due diligence using county and state websites to gather required property and transaction information.
- Prepare, revise, edit, print, and distribute correspondence, legal documents, spreadsheets, charts, and related materials.
- Manage calendars, contact lists, file listings, meeting schedules, and conference room coordination for assigned attorneys.
- Support the client billing process, including narratives, billable task tracking, edits, billing deadlines, and delivery of invoices.
- Answer and direct calls, respond to routine inquiries, relay messages, and help maintain positive client relationships.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support three attorneys within a commercial real estate legal practice.
- Manage legal files, calendars, correspondence, billing support, and client communications.
- Conduct routine real estate due diligence and research through public county and state resources.
- Maintain organized records, accurate data, and timely administrative support for a busy legal team.
- 2+ years of law firm experience required, with 3-5 years of related legal support experience preferred for this level.
- Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or related legal administrative professional.
- Strong understanding of legal file management, client service, attorney support, and professional office procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and related productivity tools.
- Ability to prepare and edit correspondence, documents, charts, spreadsheets, and internal records with accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, calendars, priorities, and multiple assignments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a team-based environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting commercial real estate attorneys or real estate transaction teams.
- Familiarity with real estate due diligence, public records searches, county websites, and state filing resources.
- Experience assisting with attorney billing, time narratives, bill edits, and client invoice delivery.
- iManage experience is a plus.
