Job Summary
A well-established education environment in Nashville, TN is seeking a Grounds & Landscaping Technician for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a dependable grounds maintenance professional with experience supporting athletic fields, landscaped areas, irrigation systems, and general outdoor campus upkeep.
The Grounds & Landscaping Technician will help maintain a clean, safe, attractive, and functional property for students, staff, visitors, and the broader campus community. Key Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing maintenance of sports fields, lawns, landscaped areas, and general campus grounds.
- Operate mowing equipment and perform routine turf care to support a clean and professional appearance.
- Handle weed extraction, weed prevention, and general landscape upkeep.
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris throughout assigned grounds areas.
- Assist with grounds lighting maintenance and report needed repairs or safety concerns.
- Support irrigation system operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance to promote healthy turf and landscaping.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire, full-time.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Maintain sports fields, turf, landscaped areas, and general outdoor campus spaces.
- Perform mowing, weed control, trash removal, and grounds maintenance duties.
- Assist with irrigation systems and grounds lighting needs.
- Help ensure campus grounds remain safe, clean, attractive, and well maintained.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant groundskeeping, landscaping, turf maintenance, or facilities grounds experience preferred.
- Experience maintaining sports fields or athletic grounds.
- Ability to safely operate mowing and landscaping equipment.
- Knowledge of weed extraction, weed prevention, irrigation, and general grounds care practices.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work an early morning weekday schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards for outdoor spaces.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an outdoor environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an education, campus, athletic facility, or institutional grounds environment.
- Familiarity with irrigation troubleshooting or basic grounds lighting support.
- Experience maintaining high-visibility public grounds or athletic fields.
- Strong safety awareness when operating grounds equipment and working around students, staff, or visitors.
