Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Agent for a temp-to-hire opportunity in South San Francisco, CA. MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1-2 YEARS OF AIR/OCEAN IMPORT EXPERIENCE.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate import and export freight activity, including shipment tracking, documentation, and status updates.
- Prepare, review, and process freight paperwork, shipping documents, customs-related forms, and internal records.
- Communicate with carriers, customers, vendors, warehouse teams, and internal departments to support timely shipment movement.
- Monitor shipment timelines, identify delays or discrepancies, and help resolve transportation or documentation issues.
- Maintain accurate data in logistics systems and ensure files are complete, organized, and compliant.
- Support daily freight operations by prioritizing urgent shipments and providing responsive customer service.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $26.00 to $27.00 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-Hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate import/export freight shipments and related administrative processes.
- Prepare and maintain accurate freight documentation, shipment records, and logistics files.
- Communicate with carriers, customers, vendors, and internal teams to support on-time delivery.
- Track shipments and assist with resolving delays, discrepancies, and documentation issues.

- 3-5 years of experience in freight, logistics, transportation, import/export administration, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of freight coordination, shipping documentation, and logistics workflow.
- Ability to accurately review documents, enter data, and maintain organized records.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with air freight, ocean freight, import/export documentation, or customs-related processes.
- Familiarity with logistics software, transportation management systems, or shipment tracking platforms.
- Prior experience in a freight forwarding, warehouse, transportation, or materials storage environment.
