Job Summary
We are seeking a Global Freight Specialist for a growing consumer products organization in the wholesale trade and import-export industry. This is a newly created direct hire opportunity driven by business expansion, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a hands-on global logistics role.
The Global Freight Specialist will coordinate international and domestic freight movement across ocean, air, ground, rail, FTL, LTL, and intermodal channels. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented logistics professional who enjoys solving shipment challenges, working with carriers and freight partners, and improving freight visibility, cost control, and service performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate global freight activity across ocean, air, ground, rail, FTL, LTL, and intermodal transportation modes.
- Manage inbound and outbound freight shipments while ensuring timely movement, accurate documentation, and compliance with import/export requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for carriers, freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and internal supply chain partners.
- Track shipments, resolve delays, and maintain accurate customs and compliance documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and manifests.
- Support freight rate negotiations, freight audits, invoice accuracy, and cost control efforts in partnership with finance.
- Develop and maintain KPI reporting related to freight cost, transit time, carrier performance, and shipment execution.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay range: $34 to $40 per hour.
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday.
- Hybrid-site schedule with 3 days in San Clemente, CA and 2 days in Fontana, CA, subject to business needs.
- Mileage and toll reimbursement provided.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Coordinate multi-modal domestic and international freight shipments across ocean, air, ground, rail, FTL, LTL, and intermodal networks.
- Manage import/export documentation, Incoterms requirements, customs paperwork, and shipment compliance.
- Partner with carriers, freight forwarders, 3PLs, finance, procurement, supply chain, and customer service teams.
- Track freight performance and support reporting on cost, transit time, shipment delays, and carrier KPIs.
- 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in global freight, logistics, import/export administration, freight forwarding, or a related supply chain function.
- Experience managing inbound and outbound freight shipments in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Solid understanding of Incoterms, import/export documentation, customs compliance, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and manifests.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort using AI tools to support daily workflow and productivity.
- Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task, manage shipment priorities, and follow through on time-sensitive logistics issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the consumer products, wholesale trade, import-export, or distribution industry.
- Prior experience working directly with freight forwarders, carriers, 3PL providers, and international vendors.
- Familiarity with freight auditing, invoice reconciliation, carrier scorecards, and transportation KPI reporting.
- Experience supporting logistics operations across multiple sites or distribution locations.
