We are seeking a motivated Garage Door Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Santa Clara, CA. This is a hands-on, customer-facing field service role ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting, and is comfortable helping homeowners make informed repair and replacement decisions.

Technicians are supported with structured training, ride-alongs with experienced team members, and the tools needed to succeed after training, including a company vehicle, gas card, cell phone, and tablet. Key Responsibilities
- Travel directly to scheduled residential service appointments to diagnose garage door, spring, cable, opener, and related system issues.
- Explain repair or replacement needs clearly to homeowners and present good, better, best solution options.
- Provide accurate estimates, recommend appropriate products or services, and close sales in a professional manner.
- Complete garage door repairs, service work, maintenance, and installation-related tasks after training.
- Identify additional customer needs, upsell appropriate solutions, collect payment, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a professional appearance and communication style as the primary company representative in customers’ homes.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Location: Santa Clara, CA, serving the San Jose, Santa Clara, and Fremont market.
- Training schedule: Monday through Friday.
- Commission: 15% to 20% variable commission on net sales.
- Average earning potential: $65,000 to $120,000 per year, based on individual performance.
- Weekly payroll with payday every Friday.
- After successful training and the applicable probationary period, technicians receive a company vehicle that can be kept at home, gas card, cell phone, and company tablet.
- Field-based role with the ability to travel directly from home to scheduled appointments in most cases.
- Diagnose residential garage door and opener issues during scheduled customer appointments.
- Present repair and replacement options, provide estimates, and close sales.
- Complete hands-on repair, maintenance, and service work after training.
- Deliver a professional customer experience from arrival through payment collection.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in field service, installation, maintenance, repair, mechanical work, customer service, or sales.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical problems in a simple, customer-friendly way.
- Comfortable working in a commission-driven role with expectations for upselling, recommending solutions, and closing sales.
- Professional, reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to build trust with homeowners.
- Willingness to complete paid training and learn garage door repair, replacement, installation, and maintenance procedures.
- Prior garage door experience is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in residential home services, garage door repair, appliance repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, maintenance, automotive repair, or similar hands-on service work.
- Experience in consultative sales, in-home sales, service sales, or commission-based roles.
- Ability to identify customer needs and confidently recommend good, better, best product or service options.
- Strong closing skills and motivation to maximize performance-based earnings.
