A direct hire opportunity is available for a Fire Sprinkler Designer in Los Angeles, CA, supporting fire protection system design for industrial warehouses, commercial buildings, mixed-use residential developments, and other construction projects.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented designer with 3-5 years of experience who enjoys technical design work, trade coordination, field collaboration, and producing accurate layouts that support safe, code-compliant fire protection systems. You will work closely with a design team in a collaborative environment that values communication, organization, efficiency, and professional growth. The position offers strong long-term potential for a designer looking to build expertise in fire sprinkler design, hydraulic calculations, fabrication listing, BIM coordination, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design fire sprinkler system layouts for industrial, commercial, residential, and mixed-use construction projects.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and support code-compliant fire protection system design.
- Create fabrication listings and coordinate design details for production and installation.
- Conduct field surveys to verify conditions and support accurate system layouts.
- Coordinate with other trades, design team members, and project stakeholders to resolve layout and constructability issues.
- Support some BIM modeling and coordination as needed for project requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 to $100,000 per year.
- Compensation is based on experience and NICET level.

- Conduct field surveys and coordinate design requirements between trades.

- Experience using SprinkCAD design software.
- Strong understanding of fire protection system layout, hydraulic calculations, and fabrication listing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, field conditions, and project specifications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage details across multiple projects.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with a design team, field teams, and trade partners.
- Efficient, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accurate and timely design deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET certification or progress toward NICET certification.
- Experience with HASS.
- Experience with Revit.
- BIM coordination or modeling experience.
- Experience designing fire sprinkler systems for industrial warehouses, commercial buildings, and mixed-use residential projects.
