Are you strong with Excel, numbers, and detailed financial data? We are seeking a Financial Analyst Assistant to join a professional team in Temecula.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in financial analysis, accounting, finance, data analysis, or a related field who enjoys working with numbers, researching discrepancies, and turning complex information into accurate, useful reports.
In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced analysts and project managers supporting financial and administrative projects. The position combines Excel, financial tracking, data analysis, reconciliation, research, and client support and offers the opportunity to build valuable analytical experience in a specialized area of finance.
We’re looking for someone who is analytical, highly detail-oriented, comfortable with numbers, and genuinely enjoys working in Excel.
Ideal qualifications include:
2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, finance, data analysis, public administration, or a similar analytical role
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may also be considered
Strong to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience working with large data sets, reconciliations, financial reports, or databases
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to research information and identify inconsistencies or discrepancies
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
Comfortable learning new financial concepts, regulations, systems, and processes
Experience with SQL, Microsoft Access, government finance, municipal accounting, special districts, assessments, or public-sector finance is a plus, but is not required for a strong analytical candidate.
What You'll Be Doing:
Analyze, organize, and maintain financial and operational data Work with large Excel spreadsheets and multiple data sources Perform calculations, reconciliations, and financial tracking
Review historical and current financial information for accuracy and trends
Research discrepancies and identify potential issues before they become problems
Prepare reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
Maintain databases and ensure information is complete and accurate
Review financial and legal documentation and extract relevant information
Assist with projects involving taxes, assessments, fees, and other financial data
Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding data, reporting, and project needs
Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Perform quality-control reviews before reports and information are finalized
Support analysts and project managers with special projects and research
