Job Summary
We are hiring a motivated Field Service Technician for a direct hire opportunity serving residential customers throughout South King County and the South Sound area, including Kent, Federal Way, Des Moines, Auburn, Tacoma, Pacific, and surrounding communities.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing home services role focused on garage door diagnostics, repairs, service recommendations, and customer satisfaction. No prior garage door experience is required. Paid training, ride-alongs, structured processes, and supportive field leadership are provided to help you build both technical and sales skills.
This opportunity is a strong fit for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting, communicates well with homeowners, and is motivated by performance-based earning potential. You will work independently in the field while representing a stable, service-focused team that values professionalism, training, clear expectations, and career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to scheduled residential appointments throughout South King County and the South Sound territory.
- Diagnose garage door issues, including broken springs, cables, openers, damaged doors, and related service needs.
- Explain problems, repair options, estimates, and product recommendations clearly to homeowners.
- Present solutions using a consultative “good, better, best” approach and close approved service opportunities.
- Complete garage door repairs, service work, payment collection, and required customer documentation.
- Provide a professional customer experience from arrival through completion of the appointment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire, full-time position.
- Paid training program for up to 8 weeks.
- $25 per hour during training.
- Compensation transitions to a commission-based pay structure after successful completion of training.
- Annual earning potential of $80,000 to $120,000 per year, based on individual performance.
- Successful first-year representatives typically earn $80,000 to $100,000+ annually.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Conduct in-home residential sales consultations with homeowners.
- Identify customer needs and recommend value-based solutions.
- Manage appointments, customer communication, and required sales documentation.
- Represent the company professionally throughout the assigned territory.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant sales, customer service, field service, or other customer-facing experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable speaking directly with residential customers in a home setting.
- Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to identify needs and recommend solutions.
- Ability to learn technical products, services, and company processes.
- Professional, dependable, self-motivated, and coachable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage a schedule effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Must currently reside in Washington State.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in residential sales, outside sales, retail sales, automotive sales, hospitality, home services, or field service.
- Background in consultative selling or solution-based customer conversations.
- Experience working in a performance-based or commission-driven sales environment.
- Familiarity with residential construction, home improvement, or home service industries.
