Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Jacksonville, FL, supporting a busy consumer packaged goods manufacturing facility. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a mechanically inclined maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, variety, and keeping a facility safe, functional, and operating smoothly.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, building maintenance, or handyman experience who takes pride in quality work. The environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and focused on reliability, safety, and operational support. You will work closely with production and facility personnel, gain exposure to a wide range of maintenance needs, and play an important role in minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform general facility maintenance, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance throughout the manufacturing site.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, fixtures, doors, locks, hardware, equipment, and facility components.
- Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and general building maintenance tasks safely and effectively.
- Respond to maintenance requests, prioritize urgent issues, and help reduce disruptions to production operations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while following company safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and maintenance documentation requirements.
- Identify potential facility issues and take action to correct problems before they become larger maintenance concerns.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate: $35 to $37.50 per hour.

Job Type: Direct hire, full-time, on-site.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform facility maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across a manufacturing environment.
- Support preventative maintenance activities, routine inspections, and day-to-day maintenance requests.
- Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and building repair tasks.
- Work with production and facility teams to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

- 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, industrial maintenance, handyman work, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical maintenance, mechanical repair, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify problems and determine practical repair solutions.
- Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures, instructions, safety requirements, and work documentation.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, kneel, and work in various physical positions as needed.
- Dependable, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial facility.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Basic HVAC knowledge.
- Welding, fabrication, or equipment repair experience.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and general industrial safety practices.
- Technical certifications, trade-school training, or related maintenance coursework.
