A well-established specialty electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Airfield Systems Estimator for a full-time, direct hire opportunity in Melbourne, FL. This role supports complex aviation infrastructure projects, including FAA-funded airfield electrical systems, NAVAIDs, runway lighting, taxiway lighting, and related airport construction work.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for airfield systems, NAVAIDs, FAA-funded electrical construction, and aviation infrastructure projects.
- Review plans, specifications, FAA standards, bid documents, and project requirements to develop accurate estimates.
- Complete quantity takeoffs, labor estimates, material pricing, subcontractor evaluations, and comprehensive bid proposals.
- Identify project risks, scope gaps, value engineering opportunities, and cost considerations during the estimating process.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and operations teams from bid development through project turnover.
- Support proposal development, bid strategy, and handoff activities after contract award.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $85,000 to $115,000+ per year, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Estimate airfield systems, NAVAIDs, FAA-funded electrical construction, and aviation infrastructure projects.
- Review aviation electrical plans, specifications, FAA standards, and bid documents.
- Develop detailed quantity takeoffs, labor estimates, material pricing, and bid proposals.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, operations, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the estimating process.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant estimating, airfield electrical, aviation infrastructure, or closely related project experience.
- Direct experience with Airfield Systems, NAVAIDs, FAA airfield electrical systems, or comparable aviation infrastructure is required.
- Strong understanding of airport electrical systems and navigational aid infrastructure.
- Experience with runway and taxiway lighting, PAPI, VASI, VOR, DME, approach lighting systems, airfield guidance signs, FAA systems, or NAVAIDs.
- Experience using estimating or construction software such as Accubid, Procore, Bluebeam, McCormick, Autodesk, Esticom, or similar platforms.
- Ability to evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing while maintaining accuracy across multiple estimates.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Previous experience as an Airfield Electrician, Airfield Superintendent, Airfield Lead, Project Engineer, or Estimator is highly desirable.
- General commercial electrical estimating experience alone does not meet the requirements for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Military aviation or military airfield electrical experience.
- FAA, DoD, airport, transportation, or aviation infrastructure project experience.
- Electrical construction field background.
- OSHA certification or other industry-related credentials.
