Job Summary
A growing commercial general contractor in Central Florida is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager for a direct hire opportunity in the Orlando, FL area. This role is ideal for a Senior Estimator, Lead Estimator, or current Estimating Manager who wants to lead preconstruction estimating efforts for commercial construction projects while working in a stable, team-oriented environment.
The Estimating Manager will oversee estimates from conceptual budgeting through final GMP and lump sum proposals for projects such as medical, healthcare, religious, institutional, office, and other commercial facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full estimating process for commercial construction projects from conceptual budget through final proposal and project turnover.
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, GMP pricing, value engineering recommendations, and cost analyses.
- Solicit, qualify, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids, including bid packages and scope reviews.
- Collaborate with preconstruction leadership, project managers, architects, owners, engineers, and subcontractors to develop accurate and competitive estimates.
- Participate in constructability reviews and provide input on cost savings, materials, scheduling, long-lead items, and market pricing.
- Support business development efforts through budgeting assistance, proposal support, and relationship building with repeat clients.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 to $130,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- 100 percent employer-paid medical insurance for employees.
- Benefits begin the first of the month following hire date.
- 15 days of PTO during the first year.
- 4 weeks of PTO after 5 years.
- 9 paid holidays.
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead estimating efforts for commercial construction projects from conceptual budgeting through final GMP and lump sum proposals.
- Develop detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, cost analyses, and value engineering recommendations.
- Manage subcontractor solicitation, bid review, scope clarification, and pricing comparisons.
- Partner with project management and operations teams to support a smooth transition from estimating to construction.
- 5 to 10+ years of commercial estimating experience with a General Contractor, with 10+ years strongly preferred.
- Experience as a Senior Estimator, Lead Estimator, or Estimating Manager.
- Proven success estimating commercial construction projects from early budgeting through final bid.
- Experience with medical, healthcare, religious, institutional, office, or similar commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of GMP pricing, conceptual estimating, detailed takeoffs, value engineering, and subcontractor bid analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP construction drawings.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, ProEst or comparable estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, organization, negotiation, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- OSHA 10 certification, with OSHA 30 preferred.
- Knowledge of Florida building codes, permitting processes, and commercial construction practices.
- Established subcontractor and supplier relationships in the Central Florida commercial construction market.
