Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Escrow Assistant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in San Carlos, CA. This role supports Escrow Officers and transaction teams through residential refinance and sale transactions, helping ensure each file moves efficiently, accurately, and professionally through the closing process.

Key Responsibilities
- Open new escrow orders, maintain accurate transaction files, and organize documents within electronic filing systems.
- Support residential refinance and sale transactions by clearing liens, ordering payoff demands, distributing commitments and preliminary reports, and coordinating surveys when needed.
- Process and track escrow funds, prepare receipts, support lender funding packages, and assist with closing requirements.
- Communicate professionally with buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, title teams, and internal departments to gather information and provide transaction updates.
- Maintain detailed records of conversations, file activity, documentation, and transaction status updates.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, confidentiality requirements, and applicable escrow and closing standards.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
- Location: San Carlos, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support Escrow Officers with residential refinance and sale transaction processing.
- Prepare, upload, organize, and maintain escrow documentation throughout the closing process.
- Coordinate payoff demands, lien clearances, funding packages, lender conditions, and closing-related requirements.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, lenders, agents, title teams, and internal departments to keep transactions moving forward.
- 2+ years of escrow experience required.
- Strong understanding of escrow processes, transaction documentation, and closing procedures.
- Knowledge of residential refinance and sale transactions preferred.
- Basic accounting knowledge, including debits and credits.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and remain productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, follow direction, and exercise sound judgment.
- Reliable, punctual, adaptable, and able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive transaction information.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of escrow experience in residential refinance and sale transactions.
- Experience coordinating with title departments, central processing teams, lenders, agents, buyers, and sellers.
- Strong customer service mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to stay calm and accurate under tight closing deadlines.
- Interest in continuing to learn escrow technology, industry practices, and transaction workflows.
