Job Summary

We are seeking an Entry Level Loan Specialist for a contract opportunity in El Monte, CA. This role is a great fit for candidates with data entry, office, banking, or loan operations experience who are looking to build a career in banking and consumer lending.

The Loan Servicing Specialist I will support loan servicing operations by setting up customer information records, processing standard loan payments, reconciling general ledger activity, and completing loan maintenance transactions. Training is available for candidates who bring strong accuracy, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.

This opportunity offers exposure to important banking operations, regulatory compliance processes, and internal customer support in a structured, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities

- Create CIS records for new borrowers and support Beneficial Ownership requirements.
- Review Beneficial Ownership Certifications for accuracy and follow up with internal customers to support regulatory compliance.
- Reconcile General Ledger activity related to invoices, payment processing, wires, and suspense accounts.
- Process standard loan payments, fee assessments, CIS updates, and non-monetary loan maintenance changes.
- Respond to internal inquiries, perform transaction callbacks as needed, and support end-of-day balancing.
- Prepare management reports for compliance and General Ledger certification activities.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $22 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: El Monte, CA.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Set up CIS records and maintain borrower-related loan servicing data.
- Process standard loan payments, wires, fee assessments, and loan maintenance transactions.
- Reconcile General Ledger activity and support end-of-day balancing.
- Prepare compliance and certification reports while responding to internal inquiries.

- Minimum 1 year of work experience, preferably in banking.
- Associate degree preferred, or equivalent work-related experience.
- Data entry and office experience required for candidates seeking training in loan servicing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial transactions and records.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build effective internal working relationships and resolve issues professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

- Loan system experience preferred.
- Banking, loan servicing, mortgage operations, or consumer lending experience preferred.
- Experience with General Ledger reconciliation, payment processing, or regulatory documentation is a plus.
