A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Fresno, CA is seeking a Donor Relations Officer to expand fundraising capacity, strengthen donor engagement, and support meaningful community programs. The Donor Relations Officer will partner closely with leadership, program teams, community partners, and donors to advance annual fundraising goals, major giving, sponsorships, events, cause marketing, and capital campaign initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with donors, prospects, sponsors, community partners, and organizational stakeholders.
- Manage a robust donor and prospect pipeline, including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, follow-up, and reporting.
- Develop donor proposals, presentations, correspondence, reports, and fundraising materials that support giving opportunities.
- Make direct asks and close donations in support of annual fundraising, major gifts, sponsorships, events, and campaign initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership and program teams to align donor interests with organizational priorities and community impact.
- Maintain accurate donor data, track fundraising activity, monitor performance metrics, and support ethical donor privacy practices.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire, regular full-time position.
- Exempt role.
- Salary range: $70,304 to $87,490 per year.
- Location: Fresno, CA.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Manage donor engagement, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and long-term relationship development.
- Support fundraising initiatives including major giving, sponsorships, events, cause marketing, and capital campaign activity.
- Prepare donor proposals, presentations, reports, correspondence, and documentation.
- Track donor pipeline activity, fundraising targets, performance metrics, and donor engagement data.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fund development, nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or a related field.
- Experience directly asking for and closing donations, including building and maintaining long-term donor and organizational relationships.
- Proficiency with donor CRM systems, business software applications, reporting tools, presentations, and documentation.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, fundraising performance metrics, donor tracking, and revenue goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to present to and represent the organization with external stakeholders.
- Strong organization, follow-up, confidentiality, ethical judgment, and donor privacy practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Flexible, adaptable, creative problem solver with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to receive and apply constructive feedback.
- Deep interest in supporting a mission-driven nonprofit environment with sensitivity to domestic violence and trauma-informed practices.
- Valid California driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on personal auto required.
- Must be insurable at all times at a standard rate by the organization’s insurance carrier.
- Must successfully pass drug screening, background check, and tuberculosis test.
- Must comply with five-year annual DOJ verification authorization requirements.
