Job Summary
A real estate development organization in Santa Monica, CA is seeking an experienced Development Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity supporting affordable housing residential development projects. This role is ideal for a highly organized project management professional who enjoys coordinating complex development activities, managing timelines and documentation, and helping projects move from planning through execution.
The Development Project Manager will work closely with internal leadership, consultants, vendors, contractors, and external stakeholders to keep development projects organized, compliant, and aligned with business goals. Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day coordination of real estate development projects, including schedules, documentation, approvals, and stakeholder communication.
- Support project planning, budgeting, reporting, and administrative tracking to help ensure project milestones are met.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, municipal contacts, and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain project documents, status reports, meeting notes, contracts, permits, approvals, and related records.
- Identify project risks, delays, or documentation gaps and work with leadership and project teams to support timely resolution.
- Help ensure development projects remain aligned with company standards, regulatory requirements, budgets, schedules, and overall project objectives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 to $150,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage real estate development project timelines, documentation, budgets, and administrative workflows.
- Coordinate project communication among internal teams, vendors, consultants, contractors, and external partners.
- Track project milestones, approvals, contracts, permits, reports, and key deliverables.
- Support leadership with project planning, progress reporting, issue resolution, and follow-up.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in project management, development coordination, administrative project support, real estate development, property management, construction coordination, or a related environment.
- Experience supporting real estate development, residential development, affordable housing, property management, construction, or related project workflows.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, priorities, and moving parts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and collaborative approach.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records, project files, reports, and documentation.
- Proficiency with common business tools used for scheduling, reporting, document management, budgeting, and project coordination.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, consultants, vendors, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, follow through on tasks, and keep projects moving forward.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting affordable housing, residential, multifamily, mixed-use, or commercial real estate development projects.
- Familiarity with permitting, entitlement, design coordination, construction administration, municipal approvals, or regulatory compliance processes.
- Experience using project management software, budgeting tools, document management systems, or real estate development tracking platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, construction management, urban planning, architecture, or a related field.
