We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to join a dynamic team in Monroe, NC, on a temporary assignment with the potential to become a permanent opportunity. Key Responsibilities
- Handle a high volume of incoming customer service calls throughout the day.
- Provide professional, courteous, and accurate assistance to callers.
- Enter and update customer or case information accurately in computer systems.
- Learn processes quickly through hands-on training and daily practice.
- Collaborate with team members, leadership, and diverse internal and external contacts.
- Maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced phone-based environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $20.00 per hour.
- Job type: Open-ended temp.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Possible overtime may be available, though it is atypical.
- Location: Monroe, NC.
- Start date: ASAP
- Handle incoming customer service calls for the majority of the workday.
- Perform accurate data entry while assisting callers.
- Learn call center procedures quickly in a hands-on environment.
- Support customers and team members with professionalism and patience.
- 1 to 2 years of customer service, call center, or phone-based support experience preferred.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort working in multiple systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high call volume.
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Strong typing and reading comprehension skills.
- Ability to work with and collaborate with diverse individuals.
- Resilient, patient, and comfortable handling challenging customer interactions.
- Must enjoy phone-based customer service and be comfortable spending most of the day on calls.
- Typing test and basic reading comprehension test are required for submission.
- In-person panel interview and possible two-hour observation are part of the selection process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous call center experience.
- Experience supporting customers in a government, public sector, or community service environment.
- Prior experience using customer service databases, case management systems, or data entry platforms.
- Ability to provide concise, specific responses during interviews and customer interactions.
