We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Customer Service Representative for a temp-to-hire opportunity in West Mifflin, PA. This role supports important public safety and utility coordination work by helping homeowners, excavators, designers, and utility companies accurately communicate excavation project details.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle inbound customer interactions from homeowners, excavators, designers, and utility companies.
- Listen carefully to customer requests and gather accurate excavation project details.
- Locate proposed excavation sites on maps and enter information with strong attention to detail.
- Relay accurate project information to underground facility owners and related parties.
- Communicate professionally and empathetically to understand customer needs and resolve questions.
- Use multiple computer applications while maintaining accuracy, speed, and professionalism.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $20.88 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: West Mifflin, PA.
- Training: In-office training in West Mifflin, PA.
- Available schedule includes 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends during winter months.
- Additional shift available: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm core shift with rotating days each week, including weekends.
- Work week runs Sunday through Saturday.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Handle inbound customer service calls and accurately document customer requests.
- Locate excavation sites on maps and capture project data with precision.
- Communicate excavation details to utility companies and underground facility owners.
- Navigate multiple computer applications while assisting customers by phone.

- High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous customer-facing experience preferred.
- Strong phone skills and a professional, persuasive communication style.
- Typing speed of 30 WPM or higher required.
- Ability to read maps and accurately identify project locations.
- Proficient with computers and able to navigate web applications, Chrome, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom.
- Strong spelling, data entry accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm, courteous, and helpful in tense or high-pressure situations.
- Fast learner with a customer-first, "How can I help you?" attitude.
- Flexible schedule availability required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous call center, dispatch, utility, public sector, or high-volume customer service experience.
- Experience using mapping tools, data entry systems, or multiple software applications at the same time.
- Prior experience supporting homeowners, contractors, excavators, designers, or utility-related customers.
