Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Corporate HR Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Vista, CA. This onsite Human Resources role is focused on employee benefits, leave administration, retirement plan support, and employee wellbeing for a stable, family-owned organization in the horticulture and agriculture industry.

The Corporate HR Manager will help lead benefits strategy, support compliant leave and accommodation practices, strengthen wellbeing programs, and partner closely with HR leadership, facilities HR teams, vendors, brokers, and employees. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for an HR professional who enjoys building trusted relationships, solving complex benefits and leave questions, and improving the employee experience across a diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, COBRA, ACA compliance, open enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee communications.
- Oversee leave administration, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA accommodations, interactive process support, return-to-work coordination, and related compliance.
- Support 401(k) plan administration, including audits, reporting, Form 5500 support, nondiscrimination testing, vendor partnerships, and plan governance.
- Lead employee wellbeing initiatives, wellness fairs, health campaigns, engagement surveys, scholarship programs, and recognition programs.
- Partner with brokers, vendors, third-party leave administrators, Wellbeing Ambassadors, HR teams, and leadership to ensure smooth HR program delivery.
- Supervise benefits and leave staff while providing training and guidance to HR team members on benefits, leave, compliance, and employee support practices.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $70,304 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead benefits, leave administration, retirement plan support, and employee wellbeing programs.
- Manage open enrollment, benefits reporting, vendor relationships, broker communication, and employee benefits education.
- Administer compliant leave and accommodation processes under California and federal employment regulations.
- Build dashboards, analytics, reporting, and leadership updates related to benefits, leave, and wellbeing programs.

- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee benefits, leave administration, and wellbeing programs.
- Strong knowledge of California leave laws and related regulations, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA accommodations, and interactive process requirements.
- Experience managing health and welfare benefits, COBRA, ACA compliance, open enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee communications.
- Experience supporting 401(k) administration, compliance processes, audits, reporting, and vendor partnerships.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills required, including the ability to read, write, translate, and speak effectively with employees.
- Strong HRIS skills, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to develop reports, dashboards, and analytics.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees, leadership, brokers, vendors, third-party administrators, and HR team members.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a hands-on, service-oriented HR approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience administering or supporting a self-funded health plan.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- HR certification such as CEBS, CBP, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, fishing, manufacturing, distribution, or another workforce-intensive industry.
- Multi-state benefits administration experience with knowledge of state-specific leave requirements.
