Job Summary

A long-term contract opportunity is available for a Computer Technician in Florence, SC, supporting a structured government and public sector IT environment. This on-site role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with experience in Windows desktop support, device deployment, asset management, and end-user troubleshooting.

The Computer Technician will play an important role in helping users stay productive by preparing, configuring, tracking, and deploying technology assets across the organization. This position offers steady full-time hours, the opportunity to work with experienced IT support teams, and exposure to established enterprise processes and tools. Key Responsibilities

- Receive, validate, label, document, and track computer equipment using established asset management procedures.
- Configure hardware, operating systems, software applications, and Windows 10 devices for deployment.
- Install devices into Active Directory environments and perform system imaging, testing, and setup activities.
- Complete desk-side installations and deployments for end users while delivering professional customer support.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and technical issues, coordinating resolutions with internal teams and vendors.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support continuous improvement of IT processes and support procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support device deployment, configuration, imaging, and setup activities in a Windows environment.
- Manage asset documentation, labeling, tracking, and deployment lifecycle processes.
- Provide desk-side technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, and user issues.
- Collaborate with end-user support teams to prioritize workloads and complete implementations.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant IT support, desktop support, computer technician, or device deployment experience.
- Hands-on experience with Windows 10.
- Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory.
- Experience with system imaging, device configuration, and workstation setup.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and end-user technology issues.
- Ability to follow established IT policies, procedures, documentation standards, and asset management processes.
- Strong communication, customer service, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working in a structured IT environment with changing priorities and deployment timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

- CompTIA A+ Certification.
- Experience with Microsoft System Center.
- Experience with BMC FootPrints.
- Dell TechDirect Certification.
- Experience with Windows 10 Enterprise.
- Prior experience supporting government, public sector, or large enterprise IT environments.
