We are seeking a Community Outreach professional for a contract opportunity in Redwood City, CA, supporting community engagement, language access, and outreach for Family Child Care Provider Pathways and related family child care support programs.
This role is ideal for a bilingual English/Chinese professional who enjoys building relationships, connecting people to resources, and supporting programs that make a meaningful impact in the community. The position offers the opportunity to work in a mission-driven public sector environment with collaborative teams, supportive leadership, and a strong focus on service, access, and community partnership.
The Community Outreach role will help prospective and existing family child care providers understand available services, training opportunities, and program supports. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, cultural awareness, organization, and the ability to provide excellent service to diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community outreach and engagement to promote Family Child Care Provider Pathways and related provider support programs.
- Connect prospective and existing family child care providers with resources, services, training, and program information.
- Provide bilingual communication support, including verbal interpretation and translation of routine program materials in English and Chinese.
- Support recruitment, enrollment, follow-up, and ongoing communication with community members and program participants.
- Maintain accurate records, complete data entry, and provide administrative support for outreach activities.
- Research community resources, prepare program materials, and assist with presentations or informational sessions as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $28 to $30 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.

- Provide bilingual English/Chinese interpretation and routine translation support.
- Maintain outreach records, complete data entry, and support administrative program needs.
- Bilingual English/Chinese required, with Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred in community outreach, community engagement, workforce development, recruitment, human services, customer support, or a related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse communities.
- Strong customer service skills and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage follow-up tasks.
- Experience with data entry, administrative support, and maintaining accurate program information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic online research skills and ability to gather and organize resource information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting family child care providers, early childhood education programs, workforce development programs, or public sector community initiatives.
- Familiarity with community-based services, training programs, or resource navigation.
- Experience assisting with outreach events, informational sessions, or participant recruitment campaigns.
