Job Summary
A growing and well-established electrical contractor in Melbourne, FL is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an estimator who enjoys complex commercial and industrial electrical construction projects and wants to play a key role in winning profitable work.
The Commercial Electrical Estimator will join a collaborative estimating team that values accuracy, communication, and strong project execution. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complete and accurate estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, addenda, and project requirements to determine scope and pricing needs.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates using estimating software.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and vendor pricing to support competitive bids.
- Identify scope gaps, value engineering opportunities, clarifications, exclusions, and project risks.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, internal bid strategy meetings, and project turnover after award.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range of $95,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Estimate commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from concept through bid submission.
- Develop labor estimates, material budgets, bid summaries, and management review packages.
- Manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support successful project handoff from estimating to operations following award.
- 3-5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical estimating experience required.
- Experience estimating electrical construction projects in commercial, industrial, or institutional environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Proficiency with Accubid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing and identify scope gaps or project risks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced estimating environment with multiple active deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating heavy industrial, water and wastewater, healthcare, K-12, aerospace, or federal electrical construction projects.
- Experience supporting bid strategy, value engineering, and project risk assessment.
- Background working with electrical contractors on complex commercial or institutional projects.
