Job Summary
A healthcare services organization in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient care, help maintain accurate medical records, support smooth clinic workflow, and deliver excellent service to patients. Key Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, document medical histories, and gather chief complaints.
- Assist providers with exams, treatments, minor procedures, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy as assigned.
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain infection control standards.
- Update electronic medical records, verify patient information, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, handle calls, and support follow-up communications.
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, check-in, check-out, and payment processing as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Location: Shreveport, LA.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support daily clinical operations by preparing patients, assisting providers, and maintaining exam rooms.
- Perform patient care tasks including vital signs, documentation, specimen collection, injections, EKGs, and phlebotomy as assigned.
- Maintain accurate EMR/EHR records and support administrative clinic workflows.
- Help ensure a positive patient experience through clear communication and efficient service.
- 1 to 2 years of medical office, clinical, or healthcare experience preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred, such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent.
- CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to stand, walk, move throughout the clinic, lift up to 25 pounds, and use manual dexterity for clinical procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fast-paced clinic, physician office, or outpatient healthcare setting.
- Experience with referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, and front office support.
- Phlebotomy, EKG, injections, and specimen collection experience.
- Strong patient service skills and the ability to maintain professionalism in a busy medical environment.
